What We Believe

We believe that God our Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He created man, in love, in His own image, for fellowship, and called man back to Himself through the sacrifice of Jesus after the rebellion and fall of man. He is beyond complete understanding or comprehension, yet, at the same time, able to be found and known.

We believe that Jesus, the Son of God, is eternally God. He was together with the Father and Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through Him all things were made. For man's redemption, He left heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary; henceforth He is forever one Savior with two natures, God and man in one person.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament, and given to believers at the moment of their belief and confession of Jesus as Lord and Savior. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature, and conforms us to the image of Jesus. He leads us into all truth and ensures our inheritance in heaven. He speaks words to the Father that we don't have.

We believe it is the testimony of both the Old and New Testaments that God is both One and Triune. The Biblical revelation testifies that there is only One God, and that He eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We affirm that the Bible, containing both the Old and New Testament, is alone the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and that its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christianity.

The Word of God declares clearly that Salvation is a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death of His Son, and is appropriated by faith. Salvation is affected by personal repentance, belief in the Lord Jesus (justification), and confession that He is Lord and Savior (regeneration). The new life in Jesus includes the privileges of adoption and inheritance in the kingdom of God's personal love for mankind. It is secure in the eternal, unchanging commitment of God who does not lie and is forever the same.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus, having been baptized into one body by the Holy Spirit. We believe in the responsibility of all believers to love and minister to one another; to seek fellowship, accountability and peace with one another.

We believe that God's provision for His children is total, and the promises of Scripture are final and forever. The shortcomings of the individual and of the Church are because of the still progressing sanctification of the saints. This life is filled with trials, tests, and warfare against a spiritual enemy, but we know that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us and we have been given everything we need for life and godliness

We believe in our responsibility and mandate to be disciples of Jesus, to love one another and to fulfill the Commission of Jesus to go and make disciples of all nations by bearing witness of Jesus through life and word, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Word of God gives us clear teaching in following our Savior in these two elements in our lives as we identify ourselves with Him. The first, baptism, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual's life, and is a testimony to all that we now belong to Jesus. It is identification with Jesus and is sealed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper is a commemoration of the death of the Lord and is done in remembrance of Him until He comes again. Both of these are only for believers.
